How did the industrial revolution impact India politically?
The Industrial Revolution did not actually impact India in any major way
politically, at that time. During the Revolution, England used India as a
source of resources and nothing more. The English also treated the Indians very
harshly, even to the point of killing some of them.
They just treated the Indians with no respect at all. They pretty much
exhausted India’s economy completely. This, however, did not lead to
independence or anything like that. The built up tension from this time may have
eventually led to it though. It did lead to some revolts though, such as the
Sapoy rebellion. Ultimately, the biggest impact was the built up tension that resulted.
